Playbill: Where Has LBB Been? How the Legally Blonde Star Took Control of Her Artistic Destiny

Seven years ago, Laura Bell Bundy was conquering New York’s theatre scene (playing the best of Broadway’s blonde-haired divas), but she hasn’t been back since. To her, being an artist took more than just a bend and snap, and now she can add country music singer, TV star and producer to her resume.

“Well,” says Laura Bell Bundy, “I didn’t know that I would be seven years down the line and have [not] done a Broadway show, you know what I mean? I think that [there] was just a series of circumstances, in terms of being stuck in record deals and being on a TV show and not having that time to actually go, ‘Hey! I’m ready now to come back and do a show.'”

Bundy speaks of her decision to leave New York behind at the height of her career to focus on other art. After playing two of Broadway’s most bad-ass blondes (the high-haired Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray and the tight-curled Glinda Upland in Wicked), she took on the blondest of them all — originating Harvard Law student Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and earning herself a 2007 Tony Award nomination.

theBoot.com: Laura Bell Bundy Grateful for Uber, Family and More

The cranberry sauce is flying off grocery store shelves, and we can almost smell the mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. But in addition to Thanksgiving’s traditional meal, the holiday is also a time of gratitude — and the multi-talented Laura Bell Bundy is thankful for a lot after a “very intense year.”

In an exclusive video, which The Boot readers can watch above, Bundy begins in comedic fashion: “I’m thankful for Uber,” she says, also including Postmates and the University of Kentucky making it to the Final Four among her goofy list of things she’s thankful for.

But keep watching, because the singer-slash-actress has some more serious things to say — and some very important things to be thankful for this year.

“2015 in general has been a very intense year,” Bundy continues. “It is definitely a year that I have redefined who I am as a creative and what it is that I do.”

WHOSAY EXCLUSIVE: LBB Dishes About Her New YouTube Series ‘Skits-O-Frenic’

Laura Bell Bundy gives us the details on her YouTube channel, including upcoming special guests and her Thanksgiving plans!

Last week I had the chance to sit down with Laura Bell Bundy, a Tony nominated actress who has recently launched a new YouTube channel called Skits-O-Frenic. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit nervous, but she made me feel right at ease! I have previously written an article giving more detail about her career that you can read here.

Since everything that took place during our interview, didn’t make the final video, let me fill you in on everything we chatted about!

Good news for Bundy fans, Skits-O-Frenic isn’t going anywhere after January. Bundy says the channel will be around until she loses her mind, or actually gets schizophrenia. Since she is so well connected to the Broadway, movie, television and music scenes (a woman of many talents), there will be lots of special guests in the series.
